A 25-year-old internally displaced man from Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State is being held by the Police, allegedly for raping a six-year-old boy.
The incident occurred on the night of 30th March at Ali Monguno Teachers Village IDP Camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Daily Trust gathered yesterday that on the same night the suspect tried to take out a girl seven years old but failed. He then went out of the house and met a boy who was awake, forced him into the house, covered his mouth and raped him.
The boy explained the incident to his caregiver who reported the case to the police.
There was yet to be an official police response on the incident by press time, but a police source said the boy had been taken to the state specialist hospital for medical examination.
