Injustice and bad governance are responsible for the lingering killings and crisis in the country, Executive Director, The Just In Foundation, Imam Fuad Adeyemi, has said.

He said this in Kaduna weekend this during a sensitization programme tagged “The Training of Trainers” for imams and scholars.

He said religious leaders should see themselves as key players in the efforts towards ensuring making Nigeria free of corruption.

He added: “The advocacy should be that the youth should not collect a bag of rice or N1000 in exchange of their future.”

He further called on politicians to always deliver on their electioneering campaign promises.

In his goodwill message, the Chief Imam of Wuse Central Mosque, Abuja, Sheikh Tajudeen Adigun, said any nation whose leaders are involved in corruption will never witness peace.

“Islam frowns on corruption, the penalty of those involved in corruption can lead to death, because they have killed others and ICPC, EFCC we have little to achieve in the fight against corruption without an inclusive policy that encourages the participation of the religious leaders,” Adigun said.
