Disclosing this at a meeting with IT stakeholders in Abuja, NITDA’s acting Director General, Dr Ashiru Daura also said the agency in conjunction with the Ministry of Communication Technology would establish four more centres in each of the remaining geopolitical zones in the country.
According to him, the private sector run centres would provide enabling platform for the youths who have innovative ideas they want to take through incubatory process.
  He also disclosed that NITDA has instituted a scholarship scheme for advanced studies in various fields of IT.
Eighteen such Nigerians are presently undergoing studies leading to award of Doctor of Philosphy in various top universities across the globe, he added.
He called on policy makers in the country to make technology a priority as, according to him, technology had helped many countries to build robust economy and brought many of their citizens out of poverty.
 NITDA has been working on many initiatives in line with its establishment act to see that various IT infrastructure are made available to all Nigerians to contribute their quota to the economic development, he said.
