Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Wahab Popoola, told newsmen in Akure at the weekend that eight people were arrested in connection with the incident, while about 10 tankers loaded with oil were also impounded.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of Civil Defence Officers Wives association (CDOWA), Popoola said his men also arrested some suspected fraudsters who allegedly duped two businessmen in the state of N2.5 million.
According to him, three of the suspects have been sent to Lagos for prosecution, while others were sent to related agencies, including the police and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution.
