The Igbinedion University, Okada in Edo State, has awarded an honorary degree to a Nigerian artiste, Mr. Innocent Idibia (Tuface).
The honour was conferred on him at the 17th founder’s day and special convocation ceremony at Okada.
At the ceremony, the Founder and Chancellor, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion urged Nigerian youths to emulate Tuface, “who through hard work and commitment rose to the position of honour early in life”.
He added that the university has trained over 10,000 graduates since inception in 1999. Chief Igbinedion commended the vice chancellor and the management for their zeal and commitment towards moving the university to a higher level.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Eghosa Osagha, commended Chief Igbinedion for his foresight in establishing the university 17 years ago.
