Industry stakeholders and operators have commended the Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) for leading a successful the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP).
They also commended the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Eng. Saleh Dunoma for his commitment to closing the entire previous gaps identified by the auditors within deadline.
Recently, the ICAO audit team audited Nigeria’s aviation sector for two weeks and returned a clean bill of health.
Industry stakeholders say, FAAN and the other agencies prepared ahead of time before the auditors came.
Reacting to the pass mark on FAAN and the industry, the President of Air Transport Service Senior Staff Association (ATSSSAN), Benjamin Okewu said “the agency merited the approval given it by ICAO.”
Also the CEO of Belujane Konsult, Chris Aligbe said “although the infrastructural status of the airports in the country may not attract a high rating but so much work has gone into safety and security.”
