A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday convicted and sentenced two human traffickers to 12 years imprisonment for promoting prostitution.

Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo convicted and sentenced the duo having found them guilty of the two counts charge preferred against them by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). She also ordered them to pay a fine of N1 million each.

Terry Homuere-Smooth and Priscilla Bassey Effiong, were first arraigned before the court sometime in November 2015, on charges bordering on organising, promoting foreign prostitution and exporting one Chisom (aka Gold) to Dubai, the capital of United Arab Emirate (UAE).
