The Kwara State government on Sunday evening announced the resumption of the 10 grant-aided schools affected by the hijab crisis in the state for today, Monday, April 12, 2021.
The government, according to a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, said the resumption was part of its efforts to get the students in affected schools to catch up on whatever they might have missed when their schools were shut.
“This is especially necessary for the students who are preparing for external examinations,” she said.
She added that the resumption date for other schools not affected by the brief closure of schools remained Monday, April 26, 2021, as earlier communicated to all teachers and staff of the affected schools.
The Monitoring and Inspection Team of the Ministry, she further noted, will be going round to ascertain the level of compliance.
The affected schools are C&S College, Sabo Oke; St. Anthony College, Offa Road; ECWA School, Oja Iya; Baptist Secondary School, Surulere; and Bishop Smith Secondary School, Agba Dam.
Others are CAC Secondary School, Asa Dam road; St. Barnabas Secondary School, Sabo Oke; St. John School, Maraba; St. Williams Secondary School, Ibrahim Taiwo Isale; and St. James Secondary School, Maraba.
