The court, presided by Chief Magistrate Muktari Ahmad, sentenced them to seven months in jail with an option of N20, 000 in fines each.

The convicts were arrested at a party on Thursday night, court documents show. The gala was organized by one Zainab Abubakar, who was also sentenced by the court to six months in jail.

In handing the jail term, the presiding judge Chief Magistrates Muktari Ahmad, held that staging the show contravened Section 97(d) of Kano State Censorship Board Law, 2001. However, all the convicts had pleaded guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Ahmad further warned the convicts to desist from acts capable of corrupting morals or face stiffer penalties. He equally advised them to engage in legitimate businesses if they wanted to remain in Kano, stressing that the state will not condone decadent behaviour.

Others who bagged jail term include Hadiza Danladi, Balaraba Mohammed, Na’imah Abubakar, Talatu Danlami and Aisha Adamu. Others are Amina Danladi, Mustafa Salisu and Bashir Idris.
