A 34-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Kubwa for allegedly selling codeine and other hard drugs to residents of Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The suspect, identified as Kelechi, who posed s as a patent medicine dealer was apprehended together with two of his customers while dispensing the drugs to customers, mostly teenagers in his shop located at Kukwaba in the area.
City News gathered from a police source that nemesis caught up with him when one of his customers, a teenager who succumbed to pressure from his father  revealed the identity of the drug dealer.
The source added that after showing the father the shop, he alerted the police who immediately visited the shop and arrested the suspect while he was busy attending to his customers.
“Two of the police officers in mufti entered the shop, pretending they were there to buy drugs and as soon as he brought out the drugs, they got him arrested together with two of his customers,” it added.
In another case, the Kubwa police has also recovered a Toyota Corola car stolen in the same area where it was abandoned in the city centre.
City News learnt that the owner of the car, a legal practitioner who attended the lawyers’ conference recently held in Abuja, had chosen to lodge in the house of a friend in the area.
The source said he packed the vehicle along the road and removed the battery from the engine before going to bed as advised by the host.
“The man woke up the following day to discover that the car has been removed from where it was parked, despite the removal of the battery,” it added.
According to the source, the victim quickly alerted the police who swung into action and recovered the car  where it was abandoned within Area 1, Garki area of Abuja, after a thorough raid.
The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurrudeen Sabo, who confirmed both cases, said about 30 bottles of the drugs were recovered from the suspect, saying investigation has commenced.
He said the recovered vehicle had since been handed over to the owner after necessary confirmation.
