The Bayelsa State Livestock Management Committee has impounded over 30 cows caught loitering the streets of Yenagoa, the state capital.

The team, led by Comrade Clever Inodu, wielded the big stick on the herders for the first time since the Livestock Breeding and Marketing Regulation Bill 2021 was signed into law by Gov Douye Diri on March 10, 2021.

By the grazing law, herdsmen and cattle owners were given space for the breeding of their livestock.

Speaking yesterday when the enforcement team monitored the level of compliance by the livestock owners, the Chairman of the task force, Comrade Clever Inodu, said the committee would leave nothing to chance to ensure that the ban placed on open grazing of livestock in the state was fully enforced.
