Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has warned parents to be vigilant of child traffickers who have been targeting the state to steal children.

He said four traffickers were recently arrested by personnel of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) for abducting two children who were later rescued in Enugu and Anambra states.

He said Bena and Danko Wasugu in Zuru local government area, have been targeted by child traffickers.

He said: “Recently four women from Enugu and Anambra were arrested by the DSS for abducting two children in Kebbi state”.

He warned parents to be more vigilant and watch the movement of their children.

He said his administration, with the support of the security agents, was taking measures to check the activities of the child traffickers in the state.

The governor urged members of the public to support his government and security agents with information on the activities of child traffickers in their communities.

He said his administration would continue to give security of lives and properties of people in the state top priority.

He commended security agents, whom he said have been up and doing, in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the state.
