An attack suspected to be a reprisal was launched on Nandu, a village in Sanga Local Government Area on Friday, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered.
The attack claimed 10 lives while 11 houses were completely burnt down.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman Sanga Local Government Council, Mr Charles Danladi, said normalcy has returned to the affected village.
Mr Danladi said authorities of the local government intensified efforts at dousing tension to prevent the possibility of further attacks.
He said youths of the area were summoned and counselled against embarking on any act capable of escalating the situation.
In an interview, a resident of the affected village who sought anonymity said the attack was suspected to be launched by herders as a reprisal after they were initially attacked before the last election, where 11 cows and 28 sheep were killed.
The Kaduna police spokesperson didn’t pick calls put through to him for his comment on the incident.
