The traditional ruler who spoke his Wadata palace, Bida, described the team which went under the auspices of Africa Healthcare Development Trust as patriotic Nigerians worth emulating, particularly by the younger generation.
He said the doctors made up of 12 Nigerians in the diaspora and 16 others practicing in the country had brought relieve to people of his domain.
He said, “This is a challenge to other Nupe people in the diaspora on the need to contribute their own quota to the development of the Nupe race, the state and indeed Nigeria. I was particularly happy when I received reports from those treated. This has really assisted so many in finding solutions to their health problems as many of them could not afford the medical bills of their ailments”.
Speaking on behalf of the team, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center, Bida, Dr. Aminu Usman, said the Niger State government contributed immensely to the success of the programme by providing N18.5 million and commended the Bida emirate for the maximum cooperation accorded them.
