The senator, who represented chairman of Senate Committee on Finance Ahmed Mohammed Markafi, said this in Calabar, Cross River State yesterday at the opening of a two-day retreat on awareness on the provisions of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007. He said the special courts should be established after the amendment of the 1999 constitution. According to him, most of those who contravene the act are: “the high and mighty in government”. He spoke on the need to empower the Fiscal Responsibility Commission to be able to challenge violators.
