The CEO of High Definition Film Studio, Bright Wonder Obasi, has said that having viable distribution channels will be the best support for the Nigeria film industry.

Obasi, who spoke to the press on the sidelines of the 2nd day of Film for Impact Foundation conference, said access to money to make films isn’t the only problem facing producers.

He said, “It is about how I get back the money?”

He explained that having cinemas in each local government can make producers recover their investments before piracy sets in.

On the conference holding in Abuja, Obasi said the 30 fellows who are represnative of 90 fellows are in attendance for the 15 days long conference that seeks to change the way film makers work.

He said, “We want to train them for behavioral change, monitoring and evaluation”, so that they can use their films to bring about positive development in  the society.

He also explained that the fellows will meet with CSO, NGOs and hear how they work and the impact they are making on the field so as to be able to tell stories that can create impact.

He said these fellows who are selected from the six geopolitical zones will create short films which will be screened at the maiden edition of “Africa Film For Impact Festival (AFFIF) coming up in May 2020.
