The Federal University Kashere, Gombe state has matriculated 1, 569
students for the 2016/2017 academic session into the faculties of
Agriculture, Education, Humanities/Management/Social Science and
Science.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Alhassan Mohammed
Gani, disclosed this at the 6th matriculation ceremony of the
institution.
Professor Gani said the university was able to admit the students out
of over 4,000 applicants due to the limited slot approved for the
institution by the National University Commission (NUC).
He said the university which was established six years ago, had 22
degree programmes in four faculties, saying none of the academic
programmes was denied accreditation by the NUC.
“Out of the 22 degree programmes presented to the NUC for
accreditation, five programmes from faculty of science and four from
faculty of humanities secured full accreditation, while the rest were
given interim accreditation,” Prof. Gani said.
The vice chancellor said preparation has reached advance stage for the
establishment of Post Graduate School.
He said the university will offer automatic employment to any students
that graduated with a first class degree.
Prof. Gani further called on the students to take their studies
seriously and avoid cultism, drug abuse and examination malpractice.
