The police, on Thursday, arraigned two businessmen, Hosea Chetukpo and Adebayo Akali, before a Zuba upper area court, Abuja, for stealing 480 birds valued at N1.4 million.
Chetukpo (35) and Akali (45), were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant, Fattah Lugman Temi Intergrated Farm, of Sabon Anagada Village in Zuba, reported the matter the police on December 3, 2020.
He said the defendants stole the complainant’s 480 birds, valued at N1.4m, noting that the offences contravened Sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty
The Judge, Gambo Garba, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000, with a surety each in like sum.
