A 22-year-old woman sustained bullet injuries in a gun battle between the Anambra Special Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) and armed robbers in a community in Asaba, Delta State.
The woman, an indigene of Akwa-Ibom State, simply identified as Blessing, was said to have narrowly escaped being killed during the open fire.
Daily Trust learnt that she was invited by one of the members of the gang who she met on face book three months ago to his residence in Anambra before the incident.
The source said the victim, a hairdresser, ignorant of the friend’s real occupation, eventually visited, but was lured into joining him to the robbery operation when she was shot in the leg.
When contacted, the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ali Okechukwu, said the victim was arrested but was on hospital admission.
