Ahead of the March 19 council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has suspended its chairman, Alhaji Abbas Baba, over alleged anti party activities.
This was part of the fall-out of the controversial primary election of the party in the council.
The decision was taken by twelve of the executive members, at an emergency meeting on Saturday in Abuja, where they suspended Baba, after citing his alleged breaching of Paragraph VII and Paragraph III of the APC Constitution, bordering on absenteeism, negligence and disobedience to lawful party directives.
They also adopted the vice chairman, Hashimu Saidu Angama, as the acting chairman.
