A former speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Manga Musa Bojude, died yesterday evening at 67.
It was learnt that he passed on at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, after a protracted illness.
He was buried yesterday at the Gombe Main Cemetery along the Bajoga road after a funeral prayer at the FTH mosque.
The prayer was attended by the incumbent speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Abubakar Nono, the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Hassan Muhammadu and the Senior District Head of Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umar, among others.
Bojude was the fourth speaker of the assembly and served from 2007 to 2011 on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party during the administration of former Governor Muhammad Danjuma Goje.
He was also a one-time supervisory councillor representing Bojude ward in Kwami Local Government Area of the state.
He is survived by wives, children and grandchildren.
