Encroachment: Court adjourns N35.4m suit against actress Anjorin’s husband

A Lagos High Court has adjourned to February 18 a suit against the husband of Lagos socialite and actress Lizzy Anjorin for alleged land encroachment.

The suit was filed by businesswoman Faith Ojo against Rasheed Olukosi, husband of Anjorin alongside others listed as Munir Olukosi, Saheed Olukosi, Kareem Wasiu Jagun, Sulaimon Bolaji, Muritala Musbau, Kehinde Jagun and Lateef Lawal.

Ojo had filed the suit contending that the defendants encroached on the two plots of land measuring 139.723 square meters with the plan no: AGA/2582/037J/2020/LA at Okun-Ajah, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Olukosi and the other defendants allegedly damaged structures on the land valued at N15 million.

Her lawyer, Sam Olusanmi Olorungbemi Esq is seeking damages and the cost of litigation and a petition valued at N35.4m against the defendants.

The lawyer also wants the court to issue a perpetual injunction “against the defendants, privies, agents and unknown third party (5th defendant from entrance, developing and occupying the subject matter, the two plots of land lying, situated and being at Okun-Ajah, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State,”

The lawyer informed the court that the plot in dispute was initially under the possession of late Chief Rasheed Atiku Abogun for 15 years before he divested his legal interest to the petitioner in 2020.
