The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami, has expressed concern over the high rate of people living with HIV and other killer diseases in Kebbi State.
The Emir, said at a gathering to mark World AIDS Day by Sami HIV/AIDS TRUST in Zuru that he was concerned with a recent health report which said there was high prevalence of killer diseases in the area.
Area of the state where he offered educational scholarship to 20 orphans expressed concern on the situation report by health officials on the high rates of killer diseases in the state.
He enjoined National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) and its state counterpart to redouble their efforts in ensuring the total eradication of killer diseases in the state.
The emir announced the award of scholarship to 20 orphans to enable them pursue their education.
The event featured public lecture on HIV/AIDS as well as support to orphans and Royal Merit Award.
