A trial is to commence soon at the Benin Judicial Division of the Edo State High Court over a breach of contract suit brought by a firm, Fata Super System Limited, against Ambrose Alli University challenging the closure of its office in the university premises.
In a suit No B/155/2016, filed on March 7, 2016, Fata Super System Limited is asking the court to determine the legality of the action taken by the institution, failing which the firm wants the court to cause the university to reverse its action or pay damages.
A press release on the case added that the claimant is also seeking an order restraining the University from preventing the claimant from further printing and producing the defendant’s staff and students identity cards to the terms of a contract between the parties, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice already filed.
The press statement which was signed by the media consultant to the firm, Ambros Sule Inusa, added that in an earlier petition dated 8th March, 2016, the firm through its managing director, Chief Fatai Abdul Aliu, had taken the position that the defendant is contractually obligated to award all printing jobs to the claimant.
