Education and knowledge of technology are two pillars to the advantage of the Nigerian youth, business experts have said.
Jean-Baptiste Amichia, vice president of African arm Forever Living Products, who spoke at the Forever Youth Summit 2018, said, “The correlation between growth and culture in Nigeria are very powerful. When you add technology and culture, you have something very unique.
“With these the Nigerian youth can withstand any growth for agriculture and for finance.”
The summit has become a platform where successful businessmen speak to young people about enterprise and seeking business growth from low-capital-intensive ventures.
Captains of industry have in particular used the summit to turn youth mindset from focussing less on white-collar jobs to exploring their own creative and entrepreneurial potential.
Ibukun Awosika, who chairs the First Bank board of directors told youth at the summit to apply their talents and skills.
“When people work collectively, you make a difference. Our youths have abundance of energy and passion to create value, and with discipline you will utilise the opportunities you see,” she said.
“If I were a youth here now, I wouldn’t find a better place to be born besides Nigeria that provides me an unprecedented opportunity to show skill,” said Cosmas Maduka, president of Coscharis Group.
It is his second appearance at the summit, where he has relayed how he started out with N200 in “settlement” money after an apprenticeship and parlayed it into the Coscharis fortune.
