The National Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (NAMBCN) has said it is expanding the frontier of investment to improve the policies of government on agriculture for availability of cassava flour.

 The new president of the association, Sir Dominic Daniel Tumba Turi, said that if the industry is repositioned, it is capable of taking the country from the economic quagmire the country is experiencing and called on bakers in the country to join hands to see that the glorious days of the country returns. 

He said, “The bakery industry is capable of turning the nation’s economy to become a catalyst for national and regional developments resulting in the avenue for improved GDP of our country. This can be achieved if all of us join hands to improve the industry to draw government attention to interventional policy and support key areas in the industry.” 

 NAMBCN president said that for the bakery industry to thrive, all members of the association must ensure that global best practice in the industry and due flour miller’s competition is the focal point. 

 He further said that there must be deepened investment and values in other related components like Flour Company, sugar, equipment, and other sub sectors. 

 He said with availability of fund, the industry under his leadership will draw attention of the government to grant incentives and establish bakery fund to help the industry and ensure that obsolete laws that impeded on the development of the industry.
