An elder brother of the District Head of Kulo in Kuje Area Council in Abuja, Mr Solomon Kulo, and two others have been abducted on their farms.

A resident of Rubochi, a neighbouring community, who preferred anonymity said the incidents happened on Tuesday evening around 4pm while the victims were working on their farms.

He said, “It was one of the family members of the district head, who is my friend; that called to inform me that their brother and two farmers had been abducted.”

Meanwhile, residents of Kulo, Zokutu and Rubochi communities have called on security agents to comb the Sheku Forest between Kulo and Rubochi over the activities of bandits.

A farmer who simply identified himself as Ayuba said, “Some farmers are afraid to go to their farms because the Sheku Forest is their hideout. If you enter the forest during day time you will think it is night.”

He added that, “Before, the bandits didn’t disturb people going to their farms. They only sent anyone they came across to buy them foodstuff, drugs and drinks. But recently they started abducting the villagers.”

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not pick a call placed to her telephone and did not also reply to an SMS on the incidents.

Two weeks ago, Daily Trust had reported that some bandits fleeing the North had set up camps in some FCT villages.
