The ODC has been without certified leader for a while leading to shades of opinion and characters were claiming the leadership role of the great council.
However, with the unanimous adoption of the new leader in the person of Ojerinde at Okaka town, itesiwaju local government on Friday January 28, 2011 an acceptable leadership has emerged for the council.
Leaders from the communities, representatives of traditional institution, religious groups, political class, heads of associations and leaders of thought including those in the academia serving and retired converge to select a leader who would henceforth lead, champion and chart accelerated development plans for the Oke-Ogun axis of the state.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Ojerinde who was in tears of joy thanked his kinsmen for finding him worthy of leading such a great council with verse geographical spread when there were other qualified persons around.
He stated that, “ I am overwhelmed, dazed and short of words. This is an enormous assignment for me and other leaders especially our community leaders. For me and this august group, Oke-Ogun development council ,we shall not disappoint you. We shall live to your expectations and ensure that our collective decisions reflect your will. We shall carry you along irrespective of your political affiliation and religious belief and creed.
