Speaking to Fever Pitch yesterday before his team took on AHIP Queens, the coach said his girls are used to wooden board but the one in Abuja is glass and that made it extremely difficult for them to adjust quickly.
He said even though his girls bounced back from their opening defeat to FCT Angels to beat Nigeria Immigration 68-45 and Customs 80-40, they could not continue winning as they subsequently lost to the more formidable clubs.
Coach Aikoroje said the team will go back and work on its lapses so as to give a better account of itself in the second phase.
His words: “We lost the opening match against FCT Angels and that affected our players’ morale. They are used to wooden board but here they are making use of glass board which is kind of strange for many of them.
“Although the girls regained confidence to beat Customs and Immigration, we lost in subsequent matches to big clubs like First Bank, First Deepwater, and Sunshine Angels. Against Dolphins it was a close one but we ended up losing.
“ We shall go back to the drawing board to correct our lapses. The second phase will see a stronger Delta Force team”, he assured.
