Isah Dara was reported in the media yesterday to have decamped to the opposition APC from the ruling party to bring what he called the necessary change not only in the council but FCT at large.
Isah Dara ruled the council from 2004 to 2010 and political analysts in the area, said he was instrumental to the victory of the incumbent chairman, Peter Yohanna Ushafa during the 2010 election having served as Supervisory Councilor during his tenure.
Sources close to the two politicians said an irreconcilable difference ensued few months after the incumbent chairman resumed office over what they called perceive over bearing influence on the incumbent chairman from the Isah Dara camp.
But speaking in an interview with City News, the council chair-man, said; ‘’I know Isah Dara very well, he is my boss, he will soon come back, he is only on a sabbatical leave.’’
He said PDP remains the party to win any election in the council considering the lofty projects the party has brought to the people of the area and urged the leadership of the party to ensure internal democracy during party primaries to enable popular and credible candidates emerge the flag bearers of the party during the election.
Isah Dara was quoted to have said APC offers the platform for change, adding that he would ensure that the party wins in future elections both in the council and the FCT.
