A former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Saidu Babangida Nguroje, has described a former Chief of Army Staff and one time Defence Minister, Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma (Rtd), has a national icon whose selfless service to his fatherland must be emulated.
In a message to mark Danjuma’s 80th birthday, the former deputy Speaker acknowledged that the celebrant had paid his dues in ensuring peace, harmony and stability in the affairs of Nigeria right from his military days and after service; adding that his philanthropy was worth all accolades.
He stated further that having attained the age of 80, “it is necessary that we all thank God for His mercy and pray that he gives him more strength to continue to offer service to humanity, particularly the less privileged in every nook and cranny.”
