Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the aegis of Empowerment for Unemployed Youth Initiative (EUYI) have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to make public, the outcome of its investigation into the N27 billion Delta State Independent Power Project.
The CSOs also asked the Delta State Government to release the report of its investigation and begin the process of recovering the funds in the interest of the state.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, Solomon Adodo who spoke on behalf of other leaders of the CSOs said their members would stage a peaceful protest to the EFCC headquarters and the Delta State Government House if their demands were not met within 7 days.
"We are deeply aggrieved because this project would have created over one thousand jobs for unemployed youths and open the state up to industrialization with a spiraling positive ripple effect across the nation.
"We shall not rest on or oars till this matter is duly and properly addressed. We call on the EFCC to proceed with the prosecution of the principal culprit in the award of the IPP contract to Davnotch Nigeria Limited," he said.
