The Senator presenting Ebonyi Centre at the National Assembly, Sen. Obinna Ogba has condemned the incessant killings and destruction of property between the people of Adadama in Cross River state and Amagu in Ikwo Local government area of Ebonyi state.
Sen. Ogba who is also the senate chairman on sports further called on federal government to initiate immediate boundary demarcation at the dispute area.
He maintained that such would avert the crisis which has claimed many lives and properties worth billion of naira destroyed since decade the crisis erupted.
Speaking with journalists at his country home in Nkalaku, he said, "Its just unfortunate, it was few days ago l learnt that the boundary crisis between the people of Adadama in Cross River and the people of Amagu Ikwo which is part of constituency started again.
"I want use this opportunity to call on the national boundary commission to start immediate boundary demarcation of of the area so as to check this constant boundary dispute in the area.
"Also is to urge both communities to be calm. I condemned this fresh attack particularly at this period when people are busy celebrating new year", he said.
Police spokesperson Loveth Odah has confirmed fresh shooting in the area but said the police was yet to receive reports of any casualties claimed.
