A chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC),    Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has said that to ensure success at the polls, there must be unity of purpose among party members.
Candido polled 133 votes ahead of  Tanko Ishaku Yamawo, who polled 103 during the party’s primary election held Wednesday night.
He said all the aspirants and party members must put the interest of the party above personal interests.
“If it is the desire of the party to form a government, the unity of aspirants and members is paramount. We should rally round and provide participatory leadership that will lead to the dividends of democracy,” he said.
Candido told City News yesterday that they were determined to ensure “a very transparent and peaceful election,” saying that residents of the council should expect good governance if given the mandate.
