The congress elections went on smoothly in Katsina State as there was no reported fracas from the 34 local government areas.
Some of the APC secretariats visited showed that most of the leaders emerged through affirmation and consensus.
The chairman of the Katsina State Local Government Congress Committee and Deputy National Treasurer of the APC, Barr. Mohammed Tanko Zakari, said only two complaints were received from the ward congresses; one of them a free election matter and the other is being handled by the appeal committee.
In his comment, the state deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, said the election officials had done a good job, noting that all the delegates were allowed to choose their candidates.
He said the delegates had demonstrated that APC was a party of change since the election was conducted through due process.
