Catholic bishops of the Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province have called on the Federal Government to create ranches for herdsmen instead of grazing reserves.
The Archbishop of the Province, Most Reverend Matthew Man-Oso-Ndagoso who made a public presentation of pastoral letter by the bishops stressed that the creation of ranches will make both economic and humane sense for the people.
“We must abandon the old practice of herdsmen moving in droves across the country especially given the violence this has unleashed on the people. Today, the entire communities have been destroyed and the anger in the land is palpable,” the letter reads in part.
The bishops also decried the prevailing situation of insecurity and violence caused largely by human actions and inactions across the nation.
