This amazing snap shows the moment a plucky lizard sunk its teeth into the hungry snake that was EATING IT (circled). The brave reptile refused to accept its fate as breakfast and clung onto the California king snake for dear life at the Santa Ynez Valley in California. The snake decided to do the best it could and swallowed the lizard tail-first anyway, but it eventually reached this stalemate situation as the lizard refused to give in. Although almost the entire lizard had been swallowed the wily critter was hanging on with its powerful jaws, refusing to accept the inevitable. In the end the snake regurgitated the reptile’s head and neck.
