The new governor of Adamawa State, Muhammad Bindowo Umaru Jibrilla has called on striking workers in the state to resume work immediately promising to dialogue with them.
He said will rehabilitate victims of insurgency and bring even development to the state.
In his speech, the governor lamented the poor state of infrastructure and economy of the state, expressing optimism that his administration will work towards lifting the state out of backwardness.
“With God on our side, we shall overcome the problems bedeviling our state. I am therefore calling on all to join hands in moving the state to greater heights,” he said.
He also called on striking workers in the state to shelve their strike action as the new admiration is ready to dialogue with them and improve their welfare.
Promising to form people oriented and all inclusive government, Jibrilla said he will consult with security agencies to see the possibility of lifting the ban on motorcycles in the state in order to ease transportation.
Meanwhile, miscreants attacked the immediate past deputy governor, Sa’ad Tahir who represented Governor Bala Nggilari at the inauguration, throwing bags of sachet water and shoes at him and booing him while he was presenting a speech.
The youth also threw stones at the Senator representing Adamawa Central, Bello Tukur, smashing the windscreen of his car at the venue.
