The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State at the weekend adopted indirect primaries as its mode to conduct elections for the emergence of candidates to fly the party’s flag in the 2019 general elections.
This decision was reached on Sunday in Makurdi at the party’s first expanded caucus meeting after the defection of Governor Samuel Ortom from the APC.
Also, the party in the state unanimously endorsed, President Muhammadu Buhari, for a second term in office.
Similarly, the party in Benue passed a vote of confidence on the APC leader of the north central, Senator George Akume, the National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole and its state chairman, Comrade Abba Yaro.
Meanwhile, the state’s APC Director of Publicity, Peterhot Apeh, said the party received in attendance new members from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) such as, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, Dr. Stephen Hwande, Solomon Wombo, Prof Eugene Aliegba among others and reconciled Usman Abubakar (Young Alhaji) back to the APC.
