Ochinke who addressed newsmen yesterday at the NUJ press center insisted that the map which the federal government agencies, the National Boundary Commission and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission presented were hurriedly forged three days before the apex court judgment.
He said the federal government lawyers were advised to rely on the forged map in order to have a strong position in their argument.
According to him, the map presented by the government agencies was not the recognized and approved map of Nigeria, which showed all the oil wells situated within the natural maritime boundary of Cross River State.
“By this forgery, the federal government has dangerously exposed and compromised the security sensitivity of the country, so that neighbouring countries like Equitorial Guinea and Cameroun have now begun to lay claims to the wrongly adjusted maritime line”, he said.
“The Cross River estuaries have been left ajar thereby making the country vulnerable to be seriously at risk of international maritime manipulation, justifiable claims by neighbours and foreign military occupation”, he stressed.
The AG said the state has set up machinery to see how the Supreme Court will review the judgment, which he said was not acceptable to the state.
