Another week, and COVID-19 is still here. As the new variant of the novel COVID-19 virus surfaced weeks ago, it has become imperative for fully vaccinated persons to take a booster dose to keep safe. In this light, the Executive Director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, says the booster jab is currently been administered in all COVID-19 vaccination centres across the country.

As individuals and businesses are still recovering from the negative effect of the pandemic, Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, says 11 million Nigerians are likely to fall into poverty by the end of 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clems Agba, has said the Auditor-General of the Federation will soon be invited to audit the N950m COVID-19 intervention fund allocated to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).

FG Begins Administering COVID-19 Booster Shots Today

The Federal Government Thursday said it would start administering COVID-19 booster dose on Friday.

Executive Director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, said this during the flag-off of COVID-19 mass vaccination for refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons at Waru internally displaced persons camp, Abuja.

COVID-19: FG Says 109m Nigerians ’Ll Be In Poverty By 2022

The Federal Government on Tuesday said the total number of poor Nigerians would be about 109 million by the end of next year.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, said 11 million Nigerians were likely to fall into poverty by the end of 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clems Agba, has said the Auditor-General of the Federation will soon be invited to audit the N950m COVID-19 intervention fund allocated to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).

Agba, who spoke shortly after a facility tour of the UPTH isolation centre, expressed anger over what he described as the poor state of the isolation centre.

COVID-19: FG To Vaccinate 70% Of Nigerians By 2022 – SGF

The federal government has said it is prepared to vaccinate 70 per cent of Nigerians against COVID-19 before the end of 2022.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, said this on Monday in Abuja.

COVID-19 Certificate: Lawyers Sue FG Over Rights Violation

Lawyers under the Advocates for Peoples Rights and Justice have filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit against the federal government over the COVID-19 certification policy announced for government workers.

The federal government had declared that from December 1, 2021, its employees shall be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours, to gain access to their offices, in all locations within Nigeria and missions.
