Mr. Chidoka stated the transformation initiated in the sector by the current administration that has translated into the soaring of confidence of both local and foreign investors in the industry.
A statement from the ministry’s Press Relation Officer Mr. James Odaudu said Chidoka, in congratulating Nigerians on her 54th anniversary assured of a continuously improving security and safety of air travellers.
The minister said there was no better legacy to bequeath to the nation at this age than the assurance of a safe and secure airspace through the provision of world class facilities and navigational equipment at the nation’s airports and the establishment of international operational standards for both local and foreign airlines.
He described the recent recertification of Nigeria as a Category I country in air safety by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an endorsement of the developments in the nation’s aviation sector and its top rating in aviation safety by the international community. The certification gives indigenous airlines access to fly directly to the United States and American Airlines to fly directly to Nigeria.
