Members of the council were at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja for a closed-door valedictory meeting with the President.
The council is headed by former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Emeka Anyaoku.
Addressing State House journalists after the meeting, Anyaoku said they had an excellent valedictory meeting with the president.
“It is the last for our council. It is the last we are meeting with the outgoing president,” Anyaoku said.
He said the council commended the president for conceding defeat in the March presidential elections.
