Three suspected armed robbers have been arrested in Katsina after their stolen vehicle was involved in an accident and one of them died on the spot.

Police said the suspects, on June 27, attacked the residence of one Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi at Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina and stole her Toyota Highlander, but they ran out luck when the stolen car had an accident that led to the death of one of them, identified as Ibrahim Haruna, 22, Alias ‘Dan Iro’, while the others fled.

Katsina police command spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, said a distress call was made to the police that night and during their search operation the vehicle was sighted in an accident around GRA Juma’at mosque, Katsina.

“The only occupant, suspected to be one of the robbers died in the accident. In the course of investigation the identity of the armed robbers was unraveled which led to the arrest of two others,” he said.

He gave the names of the suspects as Sanusi Abdullahi, 22, alias “Saga” and Mansur Abdullahi, 21 alias “Washa” both of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina.

Isah said a week after the arrest, the third suspect, one Aliyu Salisu, 22, alias “Alious” was arrested in possession of another stolen motor car and two GSM handsets.
