Area council chairmen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have assured corps members that everything will be done to ensure that they have adequate security and better welfare packages.
Speaking on behalf of the chairmen yesterday when they paid a visit to the corps members in the FCT orientation camp, Gwagwalada Area Council chairman, Mustapha Adamu Danze said any corps member posted to their area councils would be accepted and treated properly.
He assured that despite the security challenges in the country, measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the corps members in the territory.
Danze said the program has helped in uniting Nigerians despite language and religious differences. The council bosses donated 20 bags of rice, cow and cash for the feeding of the corps members while in camp.
On her part, FCT state coordinator, Hajiya Walida Siddique Isa said FCT officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) visited the chairmen and urged them to come and reassure the corps members of their support for them while they serve their fatherland in the FCT.
