The two young men who were doing their usual business around the British America Junction in the state capital, were compelled to alight from their tricycles, when one of them, whose Keke was adorned with a campaign poster of the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Gyang Pwajok, ran into the one ahead of him.
As would happen in such circumstances, both men got out of their vehicles and began the usual after-accident dialogue.
The PDP poster-carrying Keke driver admitted his guilt and begged for forgiveness, but to the surprise of many, the other Keke driver, who turned out to be an avid APC supporter, spelt out the conditions upon which he could forgive his colleague.
“Remove that face of Pwajok (the PDP guber candidate) from your keke and tear it to pieces and I will leave you to go,” he said.
The offending cyclist pleaded to be allowed to go but the APC supporter remained adamant.
“I have no problem here. You have your choice. Remove that poster and tear it up in my presence or you pay for the repair of the damage that you have caused to my keke.”
The disagreement however ended with the offending driver who said he had no money to repair the dent he inflicted on his opponent’s keke been prevailed upon by the crowd, which had gathered, to do what his colleague asked him to do. He removed the image of the PDP candidate from his tricycle and tore it to pieces.
Eventually, it was a 1-1 goalless draw as some would say.
