Bishop Akamisoko was awarded together with 51 clergymen and other parishioners, including some parents, children and their teachers.
Speaking during the award, the ACM Diocesan Coordinator, Evangelist Luke Okonkwo, said the decision to honour the recipients was informed by the passion and commitment they have displayed towards the childrens ministry, and to spur those who have not shown similar love and dedication.
In his message, Bishop Akamisoko berated the neglect of children by both parents and other adults during church programmes and other activities, describing such attitude as a negation to Christ’s teaching.
The cleric, who was represented by the Supervisory Priest, Kubwa Archeconry, Ven Emmanuel Adekola, enjoined Christians to emulate and imbibe Jesus’ open-door policy approach to children whose desire is always to impact on their lives.
