Speaking yesterday when they visited the commission in Abuja, Nollywood Actor, Zach Orji who led the team said it was unfortunate that most Nigerians do not know their fundamental human rights.
He said they were committed to helping to educate the general public on how to stand up for the rights.
“Nigerians don’t even know their rights and don’t know when it is trampled on. They don’t know how to even fight for their rights. We promise Nigerians that we will produce positive results in this fight,” Orji said.
Founder, Next 2 None Agency Barrister Sam Obu said it was time to educate Nigerians on their rights.
He said the use of conferences; workshops and symposiums in passing the message across were no longer effective.
“We know a lot of them watch Nigerian movies, so we have decided to pass our message across with the use of home movies,” he said.
The human rights Ambassadors who visited the rights commission are; Zach Orji, Zaky Adzee, Peter Rufai AKA Dodo Mayana, Pastor Sydney Diala, Bruno Iwuoha, Samson Siasia, Emmanual Francis, Barrister Sam Obu and Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde.
Executive Secretary of the commission Prof. Bem Angwe urged the ambassadors to “demand for good governance, transparency” as well as “preach the message of peace at all levels.”
