The state chairman of AFAN, Mrs Peace Emaiku who stated this while speaking with our reporter in Lokoja, said the call became necessary in view of the lukewarm attitude of farmers in the state towards registration.
She said the registration would enable farmers in the state benefit from both the state and federal government inputs to farmers, saying that whenever inputs are made available to farmers in the state, only registered members will benefit from such inputs.
She said the association has gone through transformation by electing new executive that have the interest of farmers, calling on all farmers in the state to join hands with the association to better their lives.
Mrs Emaiku said the association will work with Kogi State government and other stakeholders in agriculture so that whatever is meant for farmers either from the state or federal government gets to them.
She said with good arable land in the state, they can feed the state and the nation if the necessary incentives are given to the farmers.
