Agricultural Development Programme in collaboration with African Development Bank (ADB) funded National Programmme For Food Security (NPFS) distributed the equipment and seeds to farmers in the state.
The statistics of equipment distributed to farmers through extension agents included 150 sets of water pumps, seed processing equipment and accessories, 60 Quink motorcycles for enumerators and other NPFS staff and 1,000 assorted farm tools.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner for Agriculture, James Aniyom, said the distribution of motorcycles is to further demonstrate the commitment of the state government and to support the effort of the federal government to transform agriculture in the country.
He warned staff of agriculture agencies, associations and extension agents not to take the efforts and donations for granted as the tools must be put to proper use by all the beneficiaries.
